Not seeing results but working your butt off at your current gym in Basingstoke?
It is impossible for anyone to endlessly keep up with seeing results week in week out and over time it is normal for your progress to slow down, but if you are finding yourself not making any progress and seeing no results from working out so regularly, you are more than likely not doing the right things in order to achieve your goals, we can help you with this at our gym in Basingstoke but lets look at some of the reasons first. Consider the below:
– Is your goal is too unrealistic and/or vague
– Is your are not monitoring your progress correctly
– Are you being consistent
– Is your diet is wrong
Have you ever considered any of these to being a reason why you are not seeing results?
Let’s talk in a little more detail about each of these topics.
Unrealistic or vague goals
Most often people come to us at Fitness Flex Basingstoke with a goal that is extreme and have set the bar for themselves far too high, as a result of this they end up getting disheartened when they are not achieving their goal as they first desired. This is due to unrealistic expectations initially.
So for example if you wanted to lose 10kg, break it down to lose 1kg per week or fortnight, anything more is a bonus.
Not monitoring your progress
Choosing your goals that are measureable is absolute key, you will quickly lose interest or motivation if you don’t see progress, I am sure you know otherwise you wouldn’t be reading this.
The key is to set SMART goals, these are specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and give yourself a time frame.
Small and regular milestones will help you to adjust and track progress and amend where needed.
For example, if you wanted to achieve a 50kg Back squat, Set yourself the challenge of increase your weight on your squat each week, even if its just by 1kg its an improvement on the previous.
Consistency
We all know its hard to stick with something longer than a few days, but this is more than likely one of the reasons you are not achieving your goals and seeing results. You must give yourself time to get into routine, find balance and repeat similar movements in order to track and monitor progression on these.
Find a workout routine that works for you, whether that means 3x per week at our gym in Basingstoke, or if you are doing 5x per week training schedule. Be consistent for atleast 6-8 weeks before you notice changes. Don’t give up when things get tough.
Your diet is inhibiting your results
With all the conflicting nutrition advice that is available trying to know what you should and shouldn’t eat is very hard for many. Our bodies are unique and therefore no one rule fits for everyone. However at our gym in Basingstoke we recommend that you focus on your protein intake, this is really important. Aiming to get roughly 2g per kg of body weight and then tailor the macronutrients of Fats and Macros to suit your preference.
As long as you are eating less calories than you are burning you are sure to achieve a weight loss goal.
