Being indoors for so long especially over the winter months is absolutely drastic. Not only when it comes to socialising…
But also for keeping your brain healthy…
And that’s because being inside means we get a lot less Vitamin D.
Now a lot of people know they need Vitamin D, but they either don’t take it seriously or they forget to supplement it. As we move from winter to spring, I thought I’d give you a quick reminder about the HUGE importance of getting outdoors and boosting your Vit D
levels naturally.
So here we go…
☀️ Vitamin D gives you the calcium needed to keep teeth, bones and muscles healthy.
If you’re gonna be exercising and trying to get your dream body, you’re gonna need
plenty of sunlight to avoid injuries and fatigue.
☀️ More sun means more sleep, and the more sleep you get the better you can
recover from your training sessions. The extra sun will help release more melatonin,
this is a hormone we need to make us sleepy.
☀️ Natural sunlight can help fight off depression. There are thousands of studies that
show sunlight boosts serotonin. This is a chemical in the brain that improves mood,
helps you stay calm and improves focus.
☀️ And lastly, Vitamin D is critical for improving your immune system. Consistent
exposure to sunlight has shown to reduce the risk of illness, infections, and mortality
after surgery.
The reason I’m sharing this with you is because recently I’ve noticed a spike of online personal trainers doubling down on this whole ‘eat less and move more’ bullsh*t.
Being fitter, losing weight, and becoming a healthier/happier person is so much more than just eating and training.
That’s why at Fitness Flex we pride ourselves on coaching you on every area of weight loss and healthy living.
Whether that’s sunlight, whether it’s sleep or whether it’s your mindset.
We’re passionate about educating people to make LONG TERM changes.
All while helping you avoid the short term pitfalls along the way.
